Case: Production of 3D animated content for the SRF "SKIF" for the immersive cinema of the Novosibirsk Region stand at the “Russia” exhibition-forum at VDNH. Duration: 3 minutes.

Develop and produce content for the immersive cinema of the Collective Use Center "Siberian Circular Photon Source" (SKIF) of the Institute of Catalysis, SB RAS — a “megascience” class project with a 4+ generation synchrotron, currently being constructed in the Novosibirsk science city of Koltsovo, for the “Russia” exhibition-forum at VDNH (Pavilion 75).

Prepare the technical solution for the cinema equipment and supply the necessary components.
For the SKIF exposition zone of the Novosibirsk Region, a panoramic 200° cinema was built, with a screen 10 meters long, 3 meters high, and a resolution of 5504 × 1720. It was required to develop a 3D photorealistic video with an original 360° render at a resolution of 9908 × 5160. The theme: “SKIF” — what it is and what it is for. The goal was to fully immerse forum guests in the atmosphere of the science city and showcase the next-generation synchrotron developed by Novosibirsk scientists and engineers, creating a “WOW” effect through the scale and quality of the video.

Our team developed an original script for the 3D video, incorporated necessary adjustments from the SKIF scientific specialists, and delivered the script to the 3D visualization department. The company’s technical department designed the technical solution for the video and audio equipment of the immersive cinema. International delivery was arranged, and reconstruction of the stand at VDNH commenced.

It was decided to achieve photorealism using the Unreal Engine 5 game engine. Special attention was given to low frequencies in the sound design (the cinema is equipped with a SUB system), and a wide audio mix was assembled to enhance the stereo effect.

The video was completed on schedule at a resolution of 9908 × 5160 and is currently being shown on the screen of the immersive cinema at the Novosibirsk Region stand during the “Russia” exhibition-forum at VDNH. As intended, the cinema evokes genuine awe among a wide audience. For obvious reasons, we do not include the full version of the video in our portfolio.
