Case: Project of an original interactive presentation for SberDevices, created for installation at WebSummit 2021.

Location: Lisbon, Portugal.

Client: SberDevices.

Task:

  • Implement an interactive installation project using a volumetric LED system that responds to user voice commands.

Conditions:

  • Refusal of European contractors to implement this project due to the impossibility of fulfilling the technical requirements within the specified timeframe (one and a half months).

  • Severe COVID-related restrictions in Russia and Europe.

  • Extremely tight deadlines.

Solution:

  • Selection of the main exhibition contractor in Europe with a Russian-speaking manager, inviting our partner from the Czech Republic, with whom we had previously collaborated on other international projects.

  • Selection of a multimedia equipment supplier (LED screen with a 2.5 mm pixel pitch). Specialists from one of the largest companies in Europe, ESE (European Show Equipment), were invited — also our partners on several international projects.

  • Selection of a supplier for the volumetric LED system. No single supplier had the required amount of equipment available at once. A coordinated delivery of the necessary equipment from France, Spain, and Portugal was organized despite strict COVID restrictions in Europe.

  • Animation for the installation display was developed.

  • Original software reacting to voice commands was created.

  • Administration of the entire process and coordination of all teams working across five countries was carried out.

  • Logistics of deliveries were planned, and visa, transfer, and many other ongoing issues were resolved.

  • A key requirement was to design, deliver, and assemble the components of the installation, which consisted of two parts – filling the space under the information desk and around the “exploded view” of the SberPortal device.

  • The total number of controlled voxels exceeded 84,000.

  • Assembly of the SberDevices stand in Lisbon, integration of content and presentation within the declared timeframe. Successful execution of the summit.
